What is barium? Barium sulphate is a fine, white, inert, odorless, tasteless and bulky powder.
It has a high melting point – melts at 1580°C. Barium has a molecular weight = 233.40
It is insoluble in water, radiopaque and nontoxic. Barium was used for the first time in 1920’s.
